Goblin Encounter
D&D Dungeons and Dragons fantasy art.

On the stream bank, Bardora, a stout dwarf, stops and hunkers down in the forest while pulling on his small wagon reins to stop his pony, raising his other hand to you – signaling something up ahead. “Goblins,” he states with wide eyes of joy, “Probably three. This’ll be fun, no?” He begins to pull out his magic sword, “Nothing prettier than dead goblins.” He hands over the reins to you, “Hopefully a lair of a whole lot of em is near,” he giggles, and gets up in a very casual walk, inspecting his sword, as if it’s a nice day for a walk in the park. A goblin sees him. The goblin notifies the other goblins that are hanging around what looks like a dead elk that they might have trapped and killed, to be on guard, they got company. Bardora speaks to them with a matter-of-fact tone, “You have my dinner ready?” The goblins slowly start to pick up spears, holding in a defensive posture. A goblin speaks common to Bardora, “Come get it, if you dare.” Bardora obliges and charges – swinging faster than any could remove themselves away from his attacks – one squeals in shock, falls over with a leg missing, while another has lost his arm attempting to swing and the last of the three, skewered straight in the heart, dropping its spear, eyes wide open. Bardora smiles at him, “I’ll save you a cut.”
